First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to all of you – our incredible customers, early supporters, and believers in the Intelligent Cranium Helmets mission. It’s been a long road, but through every challenge, we’ve endured and remained focused on delivering a smart helmet we’re truly proud of.
Today, we’re excited to share a few important updates:
Tariffs and Shipping
Due to recent international tariffs, there will be some additional delays affecting current shipments.
However, while larger corporations like Amazon, Best Buy, AutoZone, Nintendo, and Target will pass these tariff costs directly to their consumers, ICH, as a small majority veteran & minority-owned company, will NOT be increasing our helmet prices to account for tariffs – for as long as we possibly can. We are committed to honoring our original pricing for you, our loyal customers, despite the increased costs on our side. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate this together.
Big Milestone: 75 Helmets Delivered!
As of today, we have proudly shipped 75 helmets! We’ve worked through an assembly backlog and have improved our processes, allowing us to increase our shipping efficiency.

Exciting Updates Based on Your Feedback
We want to take this opportunity to share some key improvements we’re implementing based on feedback from our original Beta testers:
- Optimized Battery Performance: We transitioned to a lighter 1900mAh battery to improve comfort and reduce helmet weight without sacrificing functionality. New batteries have just finished production. For orders received after 01/01/2025 that would like the smaller battery, the cost of the new battery is $25 (not including shipping). We recommend post official launch customers ship their helmets back so our team can install the batteries for you to reduce the risk of damaging the system, based on the current integration method. ICH will split the shipping costs, covering the cost to receive your helmet back while you cover the cost of shipping back to you after the replacement has been completed.
- Enhanced Inner Liner: Our CEO himself tested the v1.2 inner removable liner and while the wind noise was reduced a good deal; he wasn’t satisfied. He has worked directly with the manufacturing team and they’ve produced v1.3 (image attached), which is being shipped for testing this week in order to push into production to ship out to all customers.
- Advanced Proximity Sensing: (1) we disabled the current proximity sensors by default via an over-the-air (OTA) update; (2) we’re introducing a motorcycle-mounted radar sensor, communicating to your iC-R helmet through BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). This will be finalized by the end of May, and (3) this radar sensor will be provided free of charge to all existing orders and included in all future helmet shipments. As part of this upgrade, all iC-Re orders have been upgraded to iC-R orders automatically – no action needed on your part!
v1.1 Helmet Improvements & Release
As we’ve been navigating the recent, looming, and ever changing tariff news; our team has been in the background working on a number of improvements to our initial v1.0 production run helmets–already. We’ve made improvements to:
- Mitigate wind noise, adjust our over ear cushions to better support ears of different sizes
- Improve helmet EPS design for: (1) Reduced weight, (2) Reduced impact now better supporting low & high energy impacts, (3) Better cable routing & eliminating any pressure points, and (4) Better hardware installation to support our modularity and desire to make future replacements/upgrades easier for you as our customers.
Software Updates
Our commitment to continuous improvement extends to our software as well. We’re consistently refining our software to enhance your riding experience. Have suggestions? Let us know and we’ll look into it 100%!
We’ve recently released an over-the-air (OTA) update that introduces the TPS interface and provides support for our upcoming Tire Pressure Sensors. This will allow you to monitor your tire pressure directly through your helmet’s interface, adding another layer of safety and convenience to your ride.
We’ve also recently released an update to our Android APK. This update addresses several bugs and, importantly, now enables over-the-air (OTA) updates for the app itself. This means you’ll receive future app updates seamlessly and effortlessly. You can download the latest Android app version HERE.
All customers that have and will receive our v1.0 helmets, will also receive a v1.1 replacement helmet at no additional cost.
You will simply ship your current helmet back and after checks to ensure the hardware is still functional and in tact, you will receive a replacement within 1 week of your return. No need to reach out–our team will contact you directly to handle the swap process once the v1.1 model is ready within the next 1-2 months (depending on shell size). If you haven’t received your helmet yet, you will receive v1.1 and won’t need to worry about a swap.
