Hi Backers,
It’s imperative that we lead this and future updates reiterating that any delays to release schedule are now largely tied to either safety impact testing & certifications (depending on your required cert) or electronics/RF testing & certifications.
This portion of product rollout is outside of our control, as there are numerous submissions by other companies to each certification entity. Our team found out the past Monday of the definitive timeframe for each remaining certification, which is now reflected on our website (see below for details).
Now; on to the updates.
Safety First:
- DOT certification – PASSED
- ECE 22.06 certification – For those who did not see the last mini update, we reported on 08/21 that we received an update from our manufacturer that our submitted sample helmets failed only 1 out of all impact tests. The impact failed on “X” point, which is outside the speaker location. Our manufacturer explored 2 solutions. Solution 1 failed, but solution 2 passed internal testing. Based on this result they are underway with mould modification, they will re-test once more and then send for official re-testing around 09/13.
- SNELL certification – We expect to have results back around 09/20
Beta Testing Update:
Our team has already made the implementations and improvements reported during our recent Beta tests, which we will be showing via in depth walkthrough over the next 1-2 weeks.
In addition, based on the release delay we are extending our Beta testing to the following additional lucky backers:
- Richard Greene – Backer #11
- Austin Gleason – Backer #14
- Brent Wallace – Backer #6
- Lexy DeVore – Backer #128
While we obviously can’t add EVERYONE to the extended Beta testing and understand that not EVERYONE will be happy, we hope that you continue to see the strides that ICH is making; as well as value the continued visible proof of where and of the feedback from your fellow riders. If by chance one of the backers above cannot participate, we will draw another backer’s name.
Additional Beta helmets are expected to ship around 09/14.
Other Updates:
We have made a number of updates to our website, including the modification of our:
- ‘Features’ section, showing: (1) a condensed feature view; (2) our updated mobile app main screen.
- ‘Gallery’ section, now showing a number of actual images from our HUD interface so you can see the additional progress and what you can expect to see when you receive your helmet.
- ‘Production’ section, now showing a “Progress” section to give you an in depth accurate view of exactly: what’s been completed, what’s left, and what the true driver to release is.

Event Updates:
- Our team had a great time at the recent Xtreme Drag Racing (XDA) event – the FuelTech Bike Bash at the Virginia Motorsports Park located in Dinwiddie, Virginia this past weekend.
- We have a number of other motorcycle events we’ll be popping up on throughout our extended Beta and rollout. We’ll post details about those as they materialize.
